Streetsboro City Council voted 7-0 on Aug. 25 to adopt a resolution supporting passage of the school district's two renewal operating levies on the Nov. 4 ballot this fall.

"I am very proud of this Council passing the resolution to support the schools' renewal of their operating levies," said Council member John Ruediger.

The district is seeking voter approval of 3.5-mill and 3.9-mill operating levies. Both levies are renewals, and both would be for five years.

Speaking on behalf of Parents for Public Schools Streetsboro, Ken Claypoole, the organization's treasurer, thanked Council for the support.

"We really appreciate it; four years ago we did not get such a good response from Council," he said.
