Woman charged after driving intoxicated with minor, police say

Streetsboro -- A woman was charged with child endangerment Jan. 24 after police say she drove while intoxicated with a 12-year-old passenger in the vehicle.

According to the report, an officer in the evening observed the driver travel off the right side of the roadway several times along Route 303. Police said the driver was pulled over near the police station and showed signs of intoxication.

The driver failed a field sobriety test and was later found to have a blood-alcohol level of .155, according to the police report. Police said the driver was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, child endangerment and marked lane violations.

The driver was released to a friend at the police station.

Theft

Jan. 23. Wallet missing: A woman reported that her wallet was missing after she left it on a counter at a Phillip Parkway restaurant in the evening.

According to the report, the wallet had been left on the counter for a few minutes before the woman went back to retrieve it, but it was gone.

Police said the woman canceled her credit cards and did not disclose the amount of cash in the wallet.

There are no suspects at this time.

Fraud

Jan. 25. $215 charged to online account: A resident reported two charges worth $215 were charged to his online account during the past week.

According to the report, the man contacted his bank and was reimbursed the money.

Police said there are no suspects at this time.

Other police news

Jan. 24. Man charged with obstructing official business: Officers responded to an alarm at a Route 303 business after business hours and found a man inside who refused to identify himself.

According to the report, the man said he worked at the store, but claimed to not know his Social Security number or have a driver's license on him. Police said the man eventually admitted he was not giving information because he thought he had an active warrant through the Cleveland Police Department, but officers could not find one after he identified himself.

Police said the man was charged with obstructing official business and was released at the scene.

Jan. 25. Eggs thrown at home: A Creekledge Court resident reported around a half dozen eggs were thrown at her front door during evening.

According to the report, the resident moved into the city three weeks ago and could not think of anyone who might be involved in the incident.

Police did not disclose the amount of damage and said there are no suspects at this time.
