Roommate accused of taking vehicle without permission

Streetsboro -- A Walters Road resident reported Feb. 7 his vehicle was stolen by a roommate Feb. 6.

The resident told police the woman did not receive permission to take the vehicle and had not returned to the home since then. According to the report, police entered the vehicle as stolen in a national database. No arrest was made by press time.

Theft

Feb. 5. Bank cards stolen from vehicle: An Evergreen Drive resident reported two bank cards and a store credit card were stolen from her vehicle during the evening.

According to the report, the women left her vehicle unlocked overnight and discovered her passenger door open when she was about to take her children to school.

Police said the woman was planning to inform the banks that the cards were missing and did not know whether they had been used yet.

Disorderly conduct

Feb. 10. Woman charged: While on patrol, an officer saw a woman crossing Route 303 on foot after midnight.

According to the report, the officer thought the woman appeared intoxicated and stopped to speak with her. Police said the woman didn't cooperate with police when questioned and caused a disturbance.

The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and was taken to the police station, according to the report. Police said the woman was later released to a friend.

Operating a vehicle while intoxicated

Feb. 5. Driver charged: An officer observed a vehicle committing marked lane violations on Route 14 early in the morning and pulled the driver over.

According to the report, the driver showed signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. Police said the driver was later found to have a blood-alcohol level of .162 and was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The driver was taken to the police station and was later released, according to the report.

Other police news

Feb. 8. Customer allegedly harasses business: An employee of a Route 14 restaurant reported a man was repeatedly calling the business and using foul language after midnight.

According to the report, the man was complaining that the restaurant had gotten his "sandwich wrong three weekends in a row" and was cursing while demanding to speak to the manager, who wasn't there.

Police said officers spoke with the man and told him that charges could be filed if he continued to harass the business. The man told police he would stop calling and later stop in to speak with the manager. Police said no further action was taken.
