U.S. Army veteran Donald D. Rigby Sr., 58, of Streetsboro, died Feb. 10, 2008 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born April 15, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Clark T. Rigby and Ida M. (Linkey) Rigby-Jansen, Mr. Rigby has lived in Streetsboro since 1998 and was formerly of Ravenna. Mr. Rigby worked in security and maintenance at the Hidden Valley Campground, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, a member of the VFW in Streetsboro and Kent American Legion. Mr. Rigby is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stanley) Rigby; mother, Ida M. Jansen of Hohenwald, Tenn.; daughters Dawn Marie Wellman of Akron and Dale Ann Bacthel of Orrville; son Donald Rigby Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; stepsons James Lee, John Lee, Joseph Lee; stepdaughter Shannon Merrill; seven grandchildren; brothers Kevin Rigby of Pittsburgh, Pa., Clark Rigby of Mantua, and Jerry Jansen of Streetsboro; sisters, Kathy Andrews of Hohenwald, Tenn. and Donna Jansen of Hohenwald, Tenn. Mr. Rigby was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services took place Feb. 15 at Shorts Funeral Home's Streetsboro Chapel with the Rev. Carl Holm officiating. Interment following at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. Comments
