Spring storytime The Pierce-Streetsboro Library is accepting registrations for spring storytime. Storytime sessions will begin the week of March 24 and end the week of April 21. To register or for further information, contact the Pierce-Streetsboro Library at 330-626-4458. Tiny Tots, age 6 months to 23 months, will meet on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Family storytime for children ages 2-5 will be offered Tuesdays or Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. or on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Storytimes may include stories, songs, dances, rhythm exercises, fingerplays, flannel board stories, puppets, and crafts. Youth activities April at the library will start with an Anime/Manga drawing session on April 1 at 3 p.m. Fifth-graders through high school seniors can join in whether they are new at drawing or very skilled. Snacks and drawing materials will be provided. Attendees are invited to bring their own work, as well. Additional activities for the month of April include PlayStation Games on April 8 and April 22 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and Earth Day Crafts April 15 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The teen advisory group will meet April 15 from 2:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss ideas for teen programming. Refreshments will be served. Read to a dog The Pierce-Streetsboro Library invites children who love dogs to come to the library April 5 at 11 a.m. and read to Levi, a certified therapy dalmatian, who likes to hear children practice reading. The library will have a selection of books for the children to read to Levi, or they may bring their own books. To register, call 330-626-4458 or visit the library, located at 8990 Kirby Lane. Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month In recognition of Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month in April, the Pierce-Streetsboro Library will offer a program for kindergartners through fourth-graders. Each child who checks out at least one book about an animal will be able to enter a drawing for a prize basket. This program will begin April 1 and end April 30. Wireless available
Portage County District Library announces several of its branch libraries -- including Pierce-Streetsboro Library -- now offer wireless hotspots for patrons. Book discussion group Pierce-Streetsboro Library's Book Discussion Group regularly meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:45 p.m. in the library's meeting room. New members are always welcome to attend and participate in the discussion.
