Softball tourney scheduled in Kent The fifth annual "Kick Off the Season" charity/donation softball tournament is scheduled to take place April 19 and 20 at Kent Kramer Fields. Coed teams are set to play April 19 and men's teams are slated to play April 20. The purpose of the event is to help raise awareness of leukemia. There is a $140 entry fee per team. Make checks payable to U.M.P.S. and send to 879 Mill Road no later than April 12. A managers meeting is scheduled to take place April 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Kent Parks and Recreation, 497 Middlebury Road, for placement in brackets. The tournament is a double-elimination format. Trio races in Cleveland Streetsboro residents Claire Donovan, Craig Donovan and Eric Dean competed in the 28th Anniversary St. Malachi Day Run 5 Mile and 2 Mile races March 15 in Cleveland. Claire Donovan, 33, finished 67th in the female 19-and-older division and 261st overall with a time of 18 minute, 12.75 seconds. Craig Donovan, 16, placed sixth in the male 16-through-18 division and 64th overall (16:43.65). Dean, 30, captured 70th in the male 19-and-older division and 133rd overall (15:35.45). Golf offered The PGA of America has announced the 33rd Junior PGA Championship will be contested Aug. 13 through 16 at The TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio. Comments
