Young Professionals set first meeting for May 21

The Young Professionals Group of Portage County will host its first meeting May 21 at Twin Lakes Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost for the event is $10 to enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a fun atmosphere, and a chance to mingle with other young professionals in the area. An open cash bar also will be provided.

All aspiring and current professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 are encouraged to become members of Portage County's first Young Professionals Group.

This group is for young professionals who may be new to the area; who are looking for business and employment contacts; or who are interested in meeting other young professionals in the area.

The Young Professionals Group is designed to foster up-and-coming Portage County employees. Membership is free to employees of businesses belonging to any of the Portage County chambers of commerce.

Membership also is open to those who do not belong to a local chamber for an introductory rate of $50 per year.

The group plans to meet twice per month in the evenings, beginning in May, to avoid conflicts with work schedules.

The mission of the Young Professionals Group is to create a platform for the members to build relations, develop professionally, and cultivate education focused on the county in which we live, work, and thrive. We want our young professionals to stay in Portage County.
