Toddler open gym A sure answer for cabin fever could be Toddler Open Gym. With a variety of toys to choose from, children will be have a chance to improve their social, motor, and cognitive skills. Parents or guardians are required to stay with the children the entire time. No registration is required. Parking and entrance are in the back of City Hall. AGES: 4 and younger WHEN: Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. through April 30 WHERE: City Hall COST: $1 per child Soccer skills competition Enjoy playing soccer? Then test out those skills on the pitch at Streetsboro's Soccer Skills Competition May 17, beginning with registration at 9:30 a.m. The competition is open to first- through sixth-graders. Events include dribbling ability, passing accuracy, shooting accuracy, longest throw-in, and a juggling contest. All participants will receive a certificate. Tennis shoes or cleats must be worn, but shin guards are not necessary. Parent assistance may be necessary to make this event a success. Cost is free for Streetsboro taxpayers and $3 for non-city taxpayers. The deadline for registration is May 9. Shining Star Design Day Shining Star Design Day is the chance for kids to do what parents hate most -- get messy. Design Day, May 16, will include a variety of rather messy decorative activities, including tie-dying, glitter paint, and other items. Participants must bring their own T-shirts, socks, and other tie-dyeable items. All other materials will be provided. Refreshments and music also will be provided. Adults need not be present during this event for children age 7 to 10. The event lasts from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. and takes place at Streetsboro Municipal Building. Cost is $8 for Streetsboro taxpayers; $11 for non-city taxpayers. The deadline to register is May 2.
