Park District Board sets meeting schedule for '08

The Portage Park District Board of Commissioners has scheduled its regular meetings for the remainder of the year. All meetings take place at the Park District offices, 128 N. Prospect St., Ravenna.

Board meetings have been set at the following times:
* May 7, 6:30 p.m.

* June 4, 6:30 p.m.

* July 1, 9 a.m.

* Aug. 6, 6:30 p.m.

* Sept. 3, 6:30 p.m.

* Oct. 7, 9 a.m.

* Nov. 5, 6:30 p.m.

* Dec. 3, 6:30 p.m.

Public comment period on trails plan ends May 1

The public comment period for the draft Portage County trails and greenways plan ends May 1.

The project, being led by the Portage Park district, has been in process for a year, and recently a draft map of trail and greenway opportunities was presented at public meeting. It is on display at public libraries.

The opportunities map and a one-page description of the planning project can be found on the park district's Web site at www.portageparkdistrict.org.
