Seniors who've been looking for a way to throw out old appliances and tires will soon have a solution. The city's service department is offering free pick-up of old appliances and tires during its "Appliance and Tire Drop-off." To have items picked up, call the service department May 27 to June 4 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and don't leave a message -- speak to someone. Be prepared to give your name, phone number, address, and items that will need to be taken away. Pick-ups will take place June 5 and 6. On June 7, all residents may drop off appliances and tires at the service department, located at 2094 Route 303 (by police station), from 8 a.m. until noon. Scrap tires and appliances are the only items which will be accepted. Appliances with Freon and tires on rims will be taken. No truck or tractor tires will be picked up, and there is a six tire limit per family. No rubbish or other items will be accepted. No payment or donation is required for the service, but the service department is accepting donations of canned goods to give to the Streetsboro Christian Cupboard. Comments
