Coleman Professional Services to host breakfasts

Community members and business professionals are welcome to learn more about behavioral health, mental illness, and Coleman Professional Services and by attending "Ambassador Breakfasts." The breakfasts take place monthly. The meetings will be an opportunity to network with other community members enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast and learn about mental illness

Chamber raffle benefits scholarships

Support a college-bound high school student and get a chance to win $100 per month and $500 at Christmas by participating in the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce's raffle. There are fewer than 200 $20 tickets available. Money raised supports the Streetsboro Chamber Scholarship fund. Drawings are June 1 through May 31, 2009.

The chamber also is seeking donations to support its scholarship fund. The scholarship will go to an individual with a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and who will be majoring in business.

Business that have donated scholarship money thus far include FirstEnergy, Flexalloy Inc., Hannum Crossing, Kent Credit Union, and Streetsboro Plaza Equities.

Coffee 'N Contacts

Coffee 'N Contacts, an opportunity to drink some free coffee and meet business people, meets every other Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Arabica, located at Liberty Corners Plaza on Market Square Drive, just off Route 43.

Coffee 'N Contacts meets May 13 and 27.

Young Professionals set first meeting

The Young Professionals Group of Portage County will host its first meeting May 21 at Twin Lakes Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost for the event is $10 to enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a fun atmosphere, and a chance to mingle with other young professionals in the area. An open cash bar also will be provided.

All aspiring and current professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 are encouraged to become members of Portage County's first Young Professionals Group.

The Young Professionals Group is designed to foster up-and-coming Portage County employees. Membership also is open to those who do not belong to a local chamber for an introductory rate of $50 per year.

Chamber golf outing set at Raccoon Hill

The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce's 10th Annual Golf Outing has been set for July 11.

The event, which will take place at Raccoon Hill Golf Course.

The $85 cost per golfer includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, drinks, dinner, and the chance to take home prizes.

Registration forms will be sent to chamber members soon.
