Streetsboro Church of Christ

* The Streetsboro Church of Christ is hosting a Gospel Meeting through May 15. The speaker is Dan Kessinger from the Dewey Avenue Church of Christ in St. Marys, W.Va. The gospel meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. May 14 and 15. The topic is "Fire and Blood: Lessons from the Old Testament." The public is welcome at all events.

Streetsboro Church of Christ is located at 1386 Russel Drive.

Streetsboro Church of God

* Streetsboro Church of God will host a "Trash and Treasure Sale and Carwash" May 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crafters and those who are hoping to sell items from around the house can rent a table at the sale for $10. To reserve a table, call either 330-281-9074 or 330-626-2735 by May 25. From May 26 to May 31, the price of a table is $15.

Proceeds from the event will help send kids to youth camp.

* The Streetsboro Church of God will host a Teen Nite May 16 from 7 to 11 p.m. A service is followed by pizza and drinks. Attendees are welcome to bring extra pizza or drinks (the first is free). Bring clothes that can get messy.

The Chapel
at Tinkers Creek

* On May 11, the chapel's community trails were officially reopened on the church property at 9825 Page Road in Streetsboro.

* The annual Tinkers Creek church camping trip will be at West Branch State Park this year on July 11-13.

* Youth Pastor Kasey Parmelee will lead a group of teens and leaders to rural West Virginia in June for an Appalachian work project in the mountains.

* Worship Leader Andy Dolson will travel to Nashville in June to cut a new original CD. Dolson leads music every week in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Streetsboro Middle School. For more information visit www.tinkerscreek.com.

St. Joan of Arc

* The Altar and Rosary Society is hosting a rummage sale May 21 and 22. The sale will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 21 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 22.

To donate items for sale, come by the church May 20. For more information, call Pat Kerchenski, 330-528-0256.

* Masses are offered the following times: Each Monday through Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. with communion offered on Tuesdays; Saturday evenings at 5 and Sunday at 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.

St. Joan of Arc Parish is located at 8894 Route 14.

St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church

* A congregational meeting has been set for May 18 at 10 a.m. The meeting is to discuss options for a front sign. Designs will be displayed on the bulletin board before the meeting.

* Have questions you'd like to speak to someone about? A "Mutual Ministry" committee is forming, which may be able to help fill that need. The next meeting is June 29 at 11:30 a.m. For more information about the committee, call members Mike Phillips at 330-274-8069, Rory Wolff at 330-626-3015, or Joyce Nicely at 330-626-9421.

* Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Mondays at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m.

* Adult catechism classes meet ever Thursday at 7 p.m. This class is recommended for all new members who have joined the church during the last year.

* The Youth Group meets at 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday.

* A church rummage sale will take place June 5, 6 and 7. Collections began May 11. For more information, call Marla Manijak at 330-626-5120.

* Vacation Bible school will take place July 14-18 from 6 to 9 p.m. The theme this year is "Son Harvest County Fair."

Faith Baptist Church
of Streetsboro

Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m. for children and teens. Meeting at this time also are five adult Bible fellowship groups.

Sunday at 10:45 a.m. -- This worship service features a blend of classic and modern hymns, as well as current worship songs accompanied by a full band and singers.

Streetsboro United Methodist Church

* Streetsboro United Methodist Church is hosting monthly community dinners.

The dinners will take place each fourth Tuesday of the month. They are free and open to the public. The next free community dinner will take place May 27 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The dinners are served in the church's handicap-accessible fellowship hall. The church and hall are located at 8940 Route 43. The handicap entrance is behind the church on the lower level.

This is a community outreach program sponsored by the church's missions committee.

* Those interested in providing comfort to someone in the final stages of life may consider providing respite relief for caretakers of those in hospice care. Visits could include running errands, light housekeeping, snack preparation, and offering companionship.

Spring training for volunteers is beginning soon. For more information, call Bernadette Thomas, hospice volunteer coordinator, at 330-297-8899.
