The Streetsboro girls soccer team isn't a pushover anymore.

But it appears the Rockets still have some growing pains to encounter before they can put together a winning streak.

Host Streetsboro lost a 3-0 decision to Ravenna Aug. 28 to fall to 1-3 on the season.

Rockets goalkeeper Kayla Brown had a busy night with 19 saves in the loss.

Streetsboro's offense, on the other hand, did not take a single shot.

The visiting Rockets also lost a 3-1 decision to Portage Trail Conference rival Crestwood Aug. 26 in Mantua.

Emma Krumlauf scored the team's lone goal on an assist from Megan Humphrey.

Crestwood, which had a 2-0 lead at halftime, outshot the Rockets 16-11, but Streetsboro had a 3-2 edge on corner kicks.

Brown made 10 saves and Marissa Goodman made two saves for Streetsboro.

The Rockets were scheduled to host Kent Roosevelt Sept. 2. Results were not available at press time.

Streetsboro is set to visit Leavittsburg LaBrae Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. before returning home to play Akron Coventry Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the visiting Streetsboro boys soccer team lost a 7-3 decision to Portage Trail Conference rival Crestwood Aug. 26.

Crestwood had a 5-1 lead at halftime.

Leo Carneiro, Mike Calhoun and Kenny Bish each had one goal for the Rockets. Bish, Brandon Bertka and Shawn Wiler-Martin each had an assist.

Streetsboro goalkeeper Taylor Landgraf made 10 saves in the nets.

The Rockets are scheduled to visit Akron Springfield Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. before heading to Leavittsburg to play LaBrae Sept. 6 at 3 p.m.

Streetsboro is set to host Akron Coventry Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
