World War II veteran

Bernard S. Kaczynski, 85 of Streetsboro, died March 13, 2009 at his residence.

Born Aug. 24, 1923 in Cleveland to the late Stanley and Frances (Wisniewski) Kaczynski, Mr. Kaczynski was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He also was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and worked as a machinist for Loopco in Twinsburg.

Survivors include his daughters Christine Kehner of Colorado and Teresa (Ken) Motz of Rootstown; sons Michael of Streetsboro and Lawrence (Lyn) of Kent; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters Laura Plona of Broadview Heights and Sophie Koscielski of Hudson.

Mr. Kaczynski was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne, in October 1992, and sister Stella Sobola.

A funeral mass took place March 21 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro the Rev. Fr. Pat Ferraro officiating.

Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.

Memorials should be made to Robinson Memorial Hospice or St. Joan of Arc.
