U.S. Army veteran


Marion C. Laws Jr., 74, of Streetsboro, died April 17, 2009 at his home. Born Jan. 5, 1935 in Leoma, Tenn. to the late Marion C. and Bertha (Cromb) Laws Sr., Mr. Laws served with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Laws has lived in Streetsboro since 1979, having moved from Cleveland where he retired worked as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ellen Laws; daughters Deborah (Mark) Pavlick of Streetsboro and Becky (Darrell) Spence of Streetsboro; sisters Birdie Jay Cleveland of Leoma, Tenn., Maudie LeVeque of Seffner, Fla., Violet Waters of Winterhaven, Fla.; brother Clifford Laws of Cleveland; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services had been set for April 21 at 11 a.m. at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel with the Rev. Jim Melick officiating.

Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
