Millard Refrigeration employee Duane D. Malisiak, 45, of Hiram, died April 24, 2009 at his home. Mr. Malisiak was born on Oct. 5, 1963 in Cleveland to David J. and Sandra L. (Holyak) Milisiak. A lifetime resident of the Hiram and Mantua areas, he was a 1982 graduate of Crestwood High School where he participated in track and baseball. Mr. Malisiak was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. He was employed as a high lift tow motor operator for the past three years at Millard Refrigeration Service in Streetsboro, and, before that, he was the owner and operator of Home Bright Painting & Power Washing in Ravenna for 15 years. Survivors include his sons Daryl (Rebecca) of Fayetteville, N.C. and Matthew of Ravenna Township; his parents; sisters Sharon (David) Berish of Mantua and Stephanie (Chuck) Holmes of Solon; his grandmother Stella Malisiak of Adena; his nieces, Samantha and Courtney Berish, and Megan Holmes; and his nephew, Bradley Holmes and his fiance, Terry Murray of Hiram. Mass of Christian Burial took place May 1 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua with the Rev. Fr. Michael Garvey officiating. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua followed with full military honors. Comments
