Farmer, machinist

Paul Szabo, 92, died April 20 at Gardens of Western Reserve in Streetsboro.

Born May 13, 1916 in Cleveland to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Biro) Szabo, Mr. Szabo married his one and only sweetheart, "Midge" on Nov. 22, 1941.

They were married for 67 years before her death in December 2008.

Farming during his youth carried over into married life. When Paul finally gave up farming, he worked as a machinist for Master Tool in Cleveland. Mr. Szabo was a member of the Hilltop Christian Church in Mantua and was a longtime member of Huntsburg Baptist Church in Huntsburg.

He is survived by his sons Paul (Marilynn) of Mantua, Richard of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Jeffrey (Debbie) of Hiram; daughter Pamela (William) of Akron; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters Helen Lafferty of Parma and Irene (Louis) Fulop of Rome.

Funeral services took place April 24 at the Hilltop Christian Church in Mantua with the Rev. Jeff Jackson and the Rev. William Nygerges officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram.
