Streetsboro -- Woodside Lake Park will offer a fireworks display July 4 at dark, according to Pam Danner, owner of the 70-plus-acre campground.

"It's like a flashback to the '50s, when towns use to get together to celebrate the Fourth of July," Danner said. Danner said the campground is asking for $5 donations per carload to help defray the cost of the display, which she and her husband pay for themselves.

Parking attendants will direct vehicles to parking spots at the event. Danner said she expects the show may start around 10 p.m.

Picnicking, fishing, and swimming will be available all day at the park, and there will be some special events, as well, said Danner.

Starting at 1 p.m., there will be a penny carnival featuring games, shirt tie-dying, facepainting and other crafts.

At 4:30 p.m., there will be a cornhole tournament, said Danner. There also will be food available from concessions stands throughout the day, said Danner. Cost of admission for the day is $5 per adult; $3 for children age 3-12; $3 for seniors over 62; and free for those under 3.
