by Bob Gaetjens | Editor Three Streetsboro residents and two Twinsburg residents face second-degree burglary charges stemming from an investigation involving nine police agencies, according to a Feb. 1 news release from the Streetsboro Police Department. Streetsboro resident John J. Hudak, 34, and Albert A. Yoho Jr., 48, and Janice L. Posey, 56, both of Twinsburg, were arrested by the Streetsboro Police Department, according to police. On Feb. 6, Sandra C. Arciszewski, 44, and David C. Rutter, 41, both of Streetsboro, turned themselves in to the Aurora Police Department on the outstanding warrants for burglary. After Hudak's Jan. 30 and Yoho's Jan. 20 arraignments, both are being held on $100,000 bonds at the Portage County Jail. Hudak and Yoho are awaiting pre-trial hearings March 20 and jury trial hearings March 27 at 9 a.m. in Judge John Enlow's courtroom at Portage County Court of Common Pleas. Hudak was arrested during a Jan. 20 search of a residence at Tinkers Lodge on Wellman Road in Streetsboro, and Yoho was arrested Jan. 12 in Twinsburg, said Streetsboro Police Lt. Darin Powers. Posey turned herself in at the Streetsboro Police Department Feb. 1. She was arraigned Feb. 1. and remains at Portage County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m. Judge Mark Fankhauser's courtroom. Investigators from the Streetsboro, Aurora, Twinsburg, Bainbridge, Hudson, Stow and Moreland Hills police departments, as well as the Portage and Geauga counties' sheriff's departments, have tied one or more of these individuals to as many as 28 burglaries and four other felony thefts in four counties over the past half year, states the news release. Police are unsure what the total monetary value of the stolen goods may be, according to Powers. "We're talking about thousands of dollars in property over time," he said, adding a single incident report in Twinsburg claimed about $30,000 in lost property. Several boxes of stolen property were recovered after a Jan. 20 search warrant was served at the Tinkers Lodge, a small apartment building in Streetsboro, where Hudak, Arciszewski and Rutter reside. Investigators believe there could be more unsolved burglaries and thefts that these individuals are connected to, and the investigation is ongoing, states the news release. Police believe the suspects targeted homes outside of populated areas, states the news release. Police claim they would approach the home during the morning hours, knock on the door, and, if no one answered, allegedly enter the home either through an open door or window or by force. Once inside, they allegedly stole smaller items that were easy to carry, such as cash, jewelry, coins and small electronics, according to police. Much of the stolen property was then taken to pawn shops where it was sold for cash, according to police. E-mail: bgaetjens@recordpub.com Phone: 330-686-3941 Comments
