On Oct. 10 the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon speaker will focus on protection of intellectual property.
The lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. at Twin Lakes Country Club in Kent.
Luncheon speaker Sharon Toerek will discuss the legal issues faced by companies working to protect their intellectual capital, including: Brand selection, clearance and protection of trademarks, protection and ownership of Copyright in original creative work, legal implications of using independent contractors non-competition and non-disclosure issues and protection of company trade secrets.
Attendees will leave the presentation with a checklist of legal considerations to apply to their work and industries. Audience participation is encouraged.
Sharon L. Toerek is a partner with the law firm of Licata & Toerek located in Cleveland. Toerek focuses on intellectual property law, advising clients on trademark, Copyright, trade secret, non-competition, and other intellectual property issues, with a particular focus on the creative services industries.
The luncheon is being sponsored by the Kent Credit Union.
