Kent State University honors handed down
Streetsboro residents Karra Fantone, Stephen O'Saben, Leanna Parks and Hannah Thomas earned places on both the president's and dean's lists at Kent State University for the Fall 2007 semester.
The following Streetsboro student earned dean's list honors: Nicholas Akers, Damian Beauchamp, Hollee Becker, Elisha Beduhn, Alesha Brown, Adrianne Cology, Martschi Crock, Ashley Delamater, Gina Dinovo, Jessie Ewell, Julie Healy, Paul Jameson, Ryan Jaworski, Jerrold Kovolyan, Kelsey Livaich, Kelsey Logston, Amber Lyzen, Robert Makar, Janice Maxey, Erika McCune, Andrea Miller, Carrie Mitchell, Gina Moraco, Colleen O'Saben, Linda Peel, Eleanor Piper, Jana Reeder, Reshanne Reeder, Daniel Smith, Meredith Soeder, Morgan Soeder, Michael Sroda, Viktoria Starovoytova, Edward Strzala, Don Swekoskiz, Michael Townsend, Maleya Tran, and Laura Webster.
To be named to the dean's list, students must have achieved a grade-point average of 3.4 or greater and must have completed 12 or more letter-graded credit hours.
To qualify for the president's list, students must have an average in the semester of 4.0 and must have completed 15 or more letter-graded credit hours by the end of the semester.
Students can join Camp Invention
Camp Invention was created by the National Investors Hall of Fame Foundation and receives ongoing support from the United State Patent and Trademark Office. It is with this strong support for innovation, as well as an excellent curriculum that focuses on hands-on activities throughout the week that Camp Invention provides an enriching experience for children entering first- through sixth-grade.
Whether they are designing a futuristic vehicle, brainstorming to solve a forensics puzzle or creating a device to communication with aliens, children are enthusiastic and excited about their inventions. Throughout the camp week, they attend five different classes each day that focus on the basic principals of science.
