Many arrive at work with a small "to do" list, and at the end of the day haven't accomplished a single thing on it.
People get bogged down with other questions and have to chase down the answers.
Perhaps the person with the solution the this challenge and others is attending the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce's first industrial roundtable May 6 from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Deluxe Business Services, 10030 Philipp Parkway.
Larger industrial, manufacturing or service providers are invited to meet with one other for the chamber's first free breakfast roundtable during which manufacturers and industrial company representatives can discuss solutions these pertinent business issues.
The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce will present international speaker Jeff Tobe with his signature presentation "Coloring Outside the Lines!" at the roundtable.

This breakfast roundtable is where other companies can discuss challenges and learn from each other. In the future, industry speakers and educators will discuss topics such as employee benefits, local vendor sourcing, logistics and transportation, IT support, time management, and cost control.
Chamber raffle benefits scholarships
Support a college-bound high school student and get a chance to win $100 per month and $500 at Christmas by participating in the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce's raffle. There are fewer than 200 $20 tickets available. Money raised supports the Streetsboro Chamber Scholarship fund. Drawings are June 1 through May 31, 2009.
The chamber also is seeking donations to support its scholarship fund. The scholarship will go to an individual with a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and who will be majoring in business.
Business that have donated scholarship money thus far include FirstEnergy, Flexalloy Inc., Hannum Crossing, Kent Credit Union, and Streetsboro Plaza Equities.

Coffee 'N Contacts
Coffee 'N Contacts, an opportunity to drink some free coffee and meet business people, meets every other Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Arabica, located at Liberty Corners Plaza on Market Square Drive, just off Route 43.

Women in Business
Women in Business' luncheon will take place April 30 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church. Pat Giambrone, owner of Giambrone Construction Co., will be the featured speaker. She will speak on the challenges and rewards of being a woman in the construction field.

Young Professionals set first meeting
The Young Professionals Group of Portage County will host its first meeting May 21 at Twin Lakes Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Cost for the event is $10 to enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a fun atmosphere, and a chance to mingle with other young professionals in the area. An open cash bar also will be provided.
All aspiring and current professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 are encouraged to become members of Portage County's first Young Professionals Group.
The Young Professionals Group is designed to foster up-and-coming Portage County employees. Membership also is open to those who do not belong to a local chamber for an introductory rate of $50 per year.
The group plans to meet twice per month in the evenings, beginning in May, to avoid conflicts with work schedules.
