Streetsboro Eagles offers dinners

Streetsboro Eagles Aerie No. 4300 is hosting fresh home-cooked dinners every Thursday night with a different menu each week.

The dinners will be served from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Eagles hall, 9052 Route 14 in Streetsboro, and are open to the public.

Walgreen's to raise money to fight cancer

The staff of the Streetsboro Walgreens will host a bake sale to benefit the American Cancer Society May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The store is located at 9166 Route 43, at the corner of routes 43 and 14.

Hattie golf outing set

Hattie Larhlam will host its 22nd Annual Sugar Bush Golf Classic, benefiting children and adults with disabilities, May 21 at Sugar Bush Golf Course in Garrettsville, located at 11186 Route 88.

During the past 21 years this golf outing has raised more than $380,000 in net proceeds.

The day will begin at 7 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast. A shotgun start, two rounds of golf, and lunch will follow. The day will end with an awards dinner, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will include a variety of contests, raffles, and grand prize drawings.

Cost is $125 for individuals or $500 for each foursome registering.

The Sugar Bush Golf Classic is presented by Sugar Bush Golf Club and The Middlefield Banking Co.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the Sugar Bush Golf Classic.

Watershed tour May 12

The public is invited to tour Tinkers Creek from its headwaters in Streetsboro to its end in Valley View where it joins the Cuyahoga River.

The tour of the watershed is being conducted by Tinkers Creek Chapter of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy on May 10.

Participants will meet in the parking lot of Dodge Intermediate School, 10225 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg at 9 a.m. and travel by van most of the day.

Participants will visit Herrick Fen in Streetsboro; Tinkers Creek Nature Preserve; and they will get to see the great falls of the creek and the Tinkers Creek gorge in Bedford.

The tour will end near where the creek empties into the Cuyahoga River.

Cost is $15 for Western Reserve members and $18 for non-members to cover the cost of renting a van.

The group will stop somewhere for lunch. Space is limited. RSVP by calling Marion Olson at 330-425-4159.
