Streetsboro -- A local woman is accused of trying to super-size her income by stealing from McDonald's.

Jennifer P. Conway, 23, was arrested May 6 on a warrant charging her with theft, a fifth-degree felony, after she allegedly stole around $3,400 from the McDonald's restaurant on Route 14 in Ravenna Township.

According to Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley, the alleged theft occurred over a three-week time period.

"Another employee had noticed that money was missing from deposits that were to be made, and our office was then contacted," Kaley said.

"A suspect was identified and brought in for an interview, during which time she confessed to taking the money."

Det. Danny Burns and Deputy Alvin Sweet conducted the investigation and served the arrest warrant on Conway, Kaley said.

After confessing, Kaley said, Conway told detectives she was behind on her bills and intended to repay the money eventually.

Conway was being held at the Portage County jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $10,000 bond pending arraignment.
