Physicals offered

Sports physicals for all Streetsboro High School and Middle School student-athletes are being offered by Robinson Memorial Hospital May 17 for a cost of $25.

These physicals will be good for the 2008-09 school year. The physical exam form can be picked up at the middle school or high school office prior to the exam and completed by a parent. They also may be found at www.rockets.sparcc.org under parent forms/sports physicals.

Golf scheduled

The University of Akron football staff is scheduled to host a summer jamboree golf outing June 9 at Prestwick Country Club in Uniontown.

The cost is $160 per golfer or $640 for a foursome.

Golf outing coming
to Garrettsville

The Hattie Larlham 22nd Annual Sugar Bush Golf Classic To Benefit Children and Adults with Disabilities is scheduled to take place May 21 at Sugar Bush Golf Club in Garrettsville.

For 22 years, this annual shotgun-style golf tournament features morning and afternoon tee times for four-person teams.

The Sugar Bush Golf Classic is presented by Sugar Bush Golf Club and The Middlefield Banking Company. The event includes contests, raffles and grand prize drawings.

The single-player registration fee is $125. The following is the schedule of events:

7 a.m. -- Registration and continental breakfast

8 a.m. -- Shotgun start

1 p.m. -- Awards dinner

The following is the afternoon round schedule:

12:30 p.m. -- Registration and lunch

1:30 p.m. -- Shotgun start

6:30 p.m. -- Awards dinner

Football by Drake

coming to Kent

The Football by Drake Youth Football Camp is scheduled to take place June 18 through 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kent State University's Dix Stadium.

Football players, ages 8-14, are invited to the camp for three days of instruction by coaches from all avenues of the game.

Youth, high school, college and professional coaches are expected to be there.

Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns is expected to attend and sign autographs.

Attendees need to ring a sack lunch the first two days. Pizza and drinks will be provided on the last day. The cost is $60.

July 24: Team Passing Camp 1, $175 per team; and Big Man Camp 1, $20 preregistered

July 25: Team Passing Camp 2, $175 per team; and Big Man Camp 2, $20 preregistered

July 26: Team Passing Camp 3, $175 per team; and Big Man Camp 3, $20 preregistered

July 27: Senior Camp 3, $30 preregistered

Lake Eric Classic

coming in June

The Ken Landon Family Lake Erie Classic is scheduled for June 12 through 14 in Cleveland.

The event is part of the Redbone at Large Celebrity Tournament series and is one of approximately 30 Redbone Celebrity tournaments that are held each year, with all proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Hoops offered

Wittenberg University is conducting boys basketball skills camps this summer. Comprehensive skill camps will be offered June 15 through 18 and July 13-16.

A big man/point guard specialty skills camp is scheduled to take place June 19 and 20.

The American Junior Golf Association recently announced that the Medicus Junior All-Star at Oakwood is scheduled to take place June 9 through 12 at the Oakwood Club.

The event will bring 99 of the top boy and girl junior golfers from across the country to Cleveland Heights.

The SAP Junior Open is scheduled to take place June 23-26 at Red Tail Golf Club in Avon.
