players to visit Akron
Sam Querrey, who is the 2009 United States Open Series winner and currently the second ranked U.S. player, and Denis Kudla, the No. 1 U.S. Junior, along with veteran Mardy Fish, currently ranked fourth in the U.S., are scheduled to come to Akron Feb. 5 and 6.
These tennis professionals and coach David Nainkin and Jim Thomas will participate in the Swinging for Victory Grand Slam Event to benefit Victory Gallop.
A non-profit organization, Victory Gallop is a therapeutic riding program for children with emotional and/or behavioral challenges and life-threatening illnesses.
These world-ranked tennis professionals will take Center Court for this Grand Slam Event in exhibition matches Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 6 at 2 p.m.
The Grand Slam Event is set to begin with Pro-Am sessions Feb. 5.
A singles exhibition featuring Querrey against Kudla, along with a coaching and drill demonstration by Nainkin and Fish, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. followed by a Meet ‘N Greet, silent auction and program.
The auction includes some prized tennis memorabilia donated by the players.
Feb. 6 events include junior and adult clinics and a 2 p.m. A doubles exhibition also is scheduled to take place.
