The mayor of Streetsboro has always told me personally that he strives to give the local businesses the opportunites that arise in the city.
I think he is giving the city the business.
I heard a story about out of town companys coming into town at the request of certain police officers because they dont like getting complaints from the drunks and criminals when they have their cars towed.
I dont think it is very fair to blame a God fearing man and his business for a drunks complaints at 3am.
I also unserstand that officers dont like to wait but who makes these dicisions?
Seems to me thats either the mayors or the cheifs job to make policy.
Now onto the council, i dont understand why we the citizens of Streetsboro are paying our recycling fees and our sewer fees to the same company Portage County Solid Waste Dept.
I recently called them and asked how much it costs to run the sewer plant for 1 month.
The lady was very nice and informative.
I just paid 94 dollars for 3 months sewer bill.
If there are 20,000 home owners in Streetsboro and whoever else uses our plant that comes to just a little less than 2 million dollars.
The nice lady told me that last month it cost 150 thousand dollars but next month it would be 200 thousand dollars.
No if my math is right there is an excess of about 1.4 million.
Why are we being charged so much?
Why is the city not running their own plant instead of paying outside personel to do so?
Oh thats right, but this time lets not just blame the mayor lets blame the council too.
BY the way if paying a high tow bill and calling people in the wee hours of the morning to complain DONT BREAK THE LAW and you wont ahve that problem and dont harass the SPD because they are there to serve and protect not take your drunken complaints.
