William A. Swenskie

Served in World War II

William A. Swenskie, 84, of Seville, formerly of Streetsboro, died Jan. 11, 2013.

He was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Clarksburg, W. Va., to William and Mary (Bohensky) Swenskie.

Mr. Swenskie was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in World War II. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg as a die setter supervisor. He was a gifted cabinet maker, a charter member of the Akron Silver League slo pitch and travel teams, enjoyed Harley Davidsons, bowling, hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Mary Kay Niemiec; sisters Mary Joan and Dolores; and brother Anthony.

Survivors include his wife Marty (Hastings) Easton-Swenskie; daughters Betty Lou (Ed) Skidmore, Nadine (Darryl) Wamplers, Danita (Joe) Srodek, Dawn (Brian) Rice and Danna (Burch) Vandergriff; sons James (Tracy Reuter) Swenskie and Dan (Thelma) Easton; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother John Swenskie; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including cousins Dolores Furratti and Gloria Masters.

A funeral service was set for Jan. 15 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Burial is scheduled to take place Jan. 17 in Frostburg, Md.
