Volunteer of the Year
William F. Evitts, 78, of Windham, died Feb. 21, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 15, 1934 in Luzerne, Ky., to the late Joseph and Grace (nee Tucker) Evitts, Mr. Evitts was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Levitt was the past president of the Portage County Men's Bowling Association and enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour novels and watching old movies.
He is survived by his loving wife Suzanne (nee Oliver) of Windham; beloved sons Lee Joseph (Marie) and Bill A. (Jennifer), both of Garrettsville; cherished granddaughter Emma; sisters Barbara Byrne of Brecksville, Alice Matarrese of Streetsboro and Wilda (Gene) Nowakowski of Andover; and brother, Joseph (Beth) Evitts of Garrettsville.
A memorial service took place March 2 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremations Services in Garrettsville with Dr. Michael E. Carlson officiating. Interment followed at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Mantua.
