Richard (Rick) A. Rowe, 67, of Streetsboro, died Sept. 11, 2013, after a long battle with complications from diabetes.
Mr. Rowe was born Aug. 13, 1946 to the late Charles Irving and Opal Mae (Squires) Rowe in Fairmont, W.Va.
He served in the U.S. Army as first lieutenant, seeing combat action in the Central Highlands of Vietnam in 1968-69. Later, he taught two years at East Junior High School in Hood River, Oreg., and 28 years at James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Betty Mae Woods of Akron and Emma Jean James of Fairmont.
He is survived by wife Jane (Cowan); sons Brad Rowe of Yerington, Nev., and David Rowe of Paso Robles, Calif.; five grandchildren; brothers Charles (Beverly) of Pennsylvania, Bob (Dixie) of Florida and Ron (Barbara) of Akron; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service was Sept. 16 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with The Rev. Byron George officiating.
