Joseph George Olesh, 86, of Streetsboro, died Dec. 4, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic's Twinsburg Campus.
Born Sept. 12, 1927 in Puritan, Pa., to the late Mike and Marie (Suhar) Olesh Sr., Mr. Olesh was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
He had a love for cabinetry work, traveling, casinos and spending time with his family and friends. He was retired from Ford Motor Co., where he worked for 30 years as a material handler.
Mr. Olesh is survived by his children Marla (Charles) Trimmer of Mentor, Kevin (Glenda) Olesh of Mogadore, Neal Olesh of Kent, Lisa Olesh of North Lima, Brian (Mary) Olesh of Kent, Janice (Rich) Knotek of Streetsboro and Jeannie (Joe) Leno of Elyria; daughter-in-law Audrey (Papp) Olesh of Shalersville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; dear friend Violet Hartman of Streetsboro; sisters Joanne Ozanich of Brunswick and Marie Koposko of Uniontown, Pa.; and brother John Olesh of Mentor.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Olesh was preceded in death by his first wife, Valetta; his second wife, Bernadine; son Joseph Olesh Jr.; sister Dolores Martoncik; and brother Mike Olesh.
A funeral took place at St. Joan of Arc Church Dec. 8 with the Rev. Fr. Pat Ferraro officiating.
