LaVerne J. Wolford, 78, of Streetsboro, died Feb. 4, 2014, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
She was born Aug. 26, 1935 in Somerset, Pa., to Monroe and Elsie (Brendle) Beck.
Mrs. Wolford was a member of the Southeast Church of the Nazarene, a former member of the Kent Church of the Nazarene, a Sunday School teacher, a church board member, helped with Brownies and Girl Scouts and retired in 2001 from Streetsboro Schools where she was a bus driver. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, ceramics, puzzles, cross stitch and spoiling grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Louella Wolford, and brothers Clyde, Roy and Donald Beck.
Survivors include Clyde, her husband of 59 years; daughters Kathy (James) Javorsky of Winchendon, Mass., Kimi (Wayne) Peel of Streetsboro and Sherri (Robert) Jordan of Lima; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Lorene Davis of Kent and Janet Veon of Rootstown; and brothers James Beck of Kent and Carl Beck of Georgia.
Funeral services were Feb. 8 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel with the Rev. Paul Meduri officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
