Richard R. Lohmier, 79, of Ravenna, died April 23, 2014, at Akron City Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1934 in Athens to William and Lillian (Ney) Lohmier. He was an attendant at several service stations throughout the years. He was a member of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling.
Mr. Lohmier was preceded in death by his parents, sister Isabelle Burns, and brothers William, John, Robert and Lender Lohmier.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty (Battaglia) Lohmier; children Grace (Brian) Beers of Streetsboro, Marjory (Richard) Hauck of Hunting Valley, Richard Lohmier of Stow and Carl G. Lohmier of Ravenna; grandchildren Sandy Parker, Jennifer Beers, Nicole (Andrew) Riffle, Maxx Schumann, Brittany (Mathew) Mlazovsky and Danicia (Dave) Dunlap; great-grandchildren Oliver Jacob Riffle, Morgan and Jack Gehres; sisters Marjory Battaglia of Kent and Lilly Ann Haggard of Indiana; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass was April 28 at Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment was scheduled to follow at St. Mary Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army and VFW Post No. 1055 Honor Guard.
