Robert Lee Dorsey, 78, of Paris Township, died May 20, 2014 at his residence after a courageous battle with a long illness.

Born in Cleveland on Feb. 1, 1936 to the late Jesse Lee and Grace Elizabeth (Parker) Dorsey, Mr. Dorsey has lived in Paris Township since 1998 and formerly lived in Streetsboro.

Mr. Dorsey married the former Suzanne Baker in 1957. They were blessed with 41 years of marriage until her passing in 1998. In 2004, he married the former Jaqueline (Been) Jakab.

He was the owner and operator of Dorsey's Exxon Gas in Streetsboro during the '60s and '70s. He then worked at Croffod Fitting in Solon, Crosabel Steel in Streetsboro, Swagelock in Tallmadge, Aurora Farms, and, because of his loving and caring nature, he worked as a WalMart greeter.

Mr. Dorsey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Streetsboro.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his home on McClintocksburg Road where he would sit by the window and watch the wildlife and birds. He enjoyed doing home repairs and remodeling. He took pride in working in his yard and keeping his flowers beautiful. Mr. Dorsey enjoyed traveling and discovering new places that he had never seen before, but his greatest passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to make people smile and laugh. Mr. Dorsey kept his humor until the day he died.
