Virginia Miller

Teacher with Streetsboro schools

Virginia Miller (Bloom), 85, of Windham Township, died May 23, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on her family farm in Nelson Sept. 7, 1928 to J. Preston and Thelma (Davis) Bloom.

Mrs. Miller was a 1946 graduate of James A. Garfield High School and continued her education at Toccoa Falls Bible College. She was a teacher at both Windham and Streetsboro schools. She was the past president of the Windham PTA, served as a missionary to Guyana and worked with the Northeast Ohio Youth for Christ.

She was a 50-year member of the Windham Bible Church and the pianist for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Miller worked alongside her husband at Miller Sand and Gravel for 65 years as secretary-treasurer.

She loved all the Cleveland sports teams but she really loved the Windham Bombers. Most of all, she loved to play piano, being a mom to many, baking, being a homemaker and watching her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Miller, and her brother, Robert Bloom.

Mrs. Miller is survived by children David (Michelle) Miller of Nelson, Brian (Christene) Miller of Windham Township and Brenda (Tom) Byich of Windham; grandchildren Clarissa, David, Jarred, Joseph and Holly; great-grandchildren Carlie, Kammie, Gavin, Amelia, Addison, Juliana and Brock, who is on the way.

Visitation was May 29 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Garrettsville. Funeral services were May 30 at Faith Evangelical Church in Garrettsville with the Rev. Dr. Gary Olin and the Rev. Ken Furl officiating. Burial followed at Windham Township Cemetery.
