William H. "Billy" Fordyce Jr., 58, of Mantua, died May 26, 2014, in Cleveland.
He was born July 15, 1955 in Waynesburg, Pa., as the son of William H. and Edna (Welling) Fordyce, Sr. A long-time area resident, he was a 1974 graduate of Crestwood High School.
Mr. Fordyce was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War era, where he was an in-flight refueling technician. He was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Fordyce, in 2008 and his brother, Herman, in 2010.
Survivors include son Michael Fordyce of Streetsboro; parents William and Sandi Fordyce Sr. of Shalersville, Edna Welling of New York and step-mother June Kelly of Streetsboro; sisters Crystal Skvarek of Bentleyville, Pa., Marguerite (Charles) Jack of West Newton, Pa., Wilma (Thomas) Kile of Homer, N.Y., Tina (David) Ballentine of Shalersville and Daphne (Thomas) Finegan of Stow; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were May 30 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua with Capt. Demetrius Stanford of the Salvation Army officiating. Military honors were provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Cremation followed.
