ALCOHOL- AND DRUG-RELATED

Streetsboro man charged: A 29-year-old Streetsboro man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influ-ence Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. on Route 14 at Diagonal Road. Af-ter a caller reported a possi-ble intoxicated driver to police, an officer stopped the suspect-ed vehicle, which police said was veering left of center. The officer said the man had blood-shot eyes, slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol bever-age. The man registered a .169 blood-alcohol count, over the le-gal limit of .08, and failed field sobriety tests, according to po-lice. He was also charged with marked lane violations.

THEFT

  Pair charged with theft: A Kent woman and a Cleveland man, both 21, were charged with theft after police alleged they tried to steal merchandise from a Singletary Drive busi-ness Nov. 14 at 2:17 p.m. Store security personnel reported they tried to take $230 worth of miscellaneous adult and chil-dren’s clothing and jewelry.

VANDALISM Graffiti in park restrooms: A parks and recreation depart-ment employee reported find-ing graffiti Nov. 14 at 9:07 a.m. in the men’s and women’s rest-rooms at City Park. Police said someone took a black mark-er and wrote on the walls, toi-lets and urinals, and toilet paper was unrolled. Police are inves-tigating.

ILLEGAL DUMPING

  Items dumped at golf course: Police responded Nov. 14 at 10:07 a.m. to a report of ille-gal dumping at a Page Road golf course. Police said someone dropped off paper towels cov-ered with feces plus doughnut boxes. Police are investigating.

COUNTERFEITING

  Suspects with fake money: A counterfeit $20 bill was reported used at another Route 14 fast food restaurant Nov. 8 at 6:14 p.m. A witness got the license plate number of the vehicle a male suspect and female sus-pect entered. Police contacted the two suspects, who told po-lice they did not know the mon-ey was fake, according to the police report. The female said she received the money from a friend. Police are investigating.
