Red Cross seeks award nominations
The American Red Cross invites the public to submit hero nominations for the 2013 Red Cross Hero Awards. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 31.
Each year, the American Red Cross of Summit and Portage Counties honors local heroes -- both community members and professional rescuers -- during its "Acts of Courage" event in Summit County in March and "Real Heroes" breakfast in Portage County in the spring of 2013.
Nominees can be individuals who did something extraordinary in an emergency, who risked their lives to save those of others or performed an act of courage.
