Streetsboro girls hoops team falls; wrestlers place 10th

The Streetsboro girls basketball team fell to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the Portage Trail Conference Metro Division after losing a 59-40 decision to Coventry Dec. 15 in Akron.

Coventry outscored the Rockets 22-10 in the fourth quarter and 14-7 in the first quarter.

Kristi Morisak led Coventry (3-2, 1-2) with a game-high 23 points. Alison Targosky led Streetsboro with 12 points and Marra Woods added 11 points for the Rockets.

WRESTLERS PLACE 10TH

The Streetsboro wrestling team placed 10th with 81.5 points at the 17-team Hudson Holiday Tournament Dec. 15.

Parma won the competition with 196.5 points and Maple Heights finished second (167.5). Crestwood (145.5) and Cuyahoga Falls (141) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Heavyweight Sam Creque finished second to lead the Rockets.

Placing in the top five for Streetsboro were Sean Kuklisin (fourth, 106 pounds), Chris Dynowski (fourth, 132), Kyle Woods (fourth, 152), Aaron Dantimo (fifth, 120).
