Wilson reaches 1,000

Robert Wilson, a Streetsboro High School graduate, topped the 1,000-point milestone last week as a member of the Gannon University (Pa.) men's basketball team.

Wilson, who originally began his college basketball career at Urbana University before transferring to Gannon, reached the lofty total with an and-one layup with 6 minutes, 2 seconds remaining in the first half of Gannon's 66-64 loss to West Chester (Pa.).

Wilson scored 803 points during his first two seasons at Urbana.

He was forced to sit out last season because of transfer rules, but he quickly became an impact player for Gannon.

In the game against West Chester, Wilson finished with 15 points and nine rebounds to go along with four assists and one block in his 38 minutes of play.

For the season, the redshirt junior is second on the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game.

He is also third in three-point percentage (36.2), second in free throws made (57), first in rebounds (6.9), second in assists (2.8), second in steals (1.2) and first in minutes played (33.1).

Wilson led the Rockets to regional play as a senior.
