Nordonia pummels Streetsboro boys basketball team

The Streetsboro boys basketball team fell to 11-10 on the season after losing a lopsided 85-43 decision to Nordonia Feb. 19 in Macedonia.

With the win, the Knights improved to 19-2. Nordonia made 10 three-pointers, including eight in the first half. Nordonia had a 43-26 lead at halftime.

A total of 10 players scored for the Knights. Four Nordonia players scored in double figures.

Knights' 6-foot-8 center Chris Scott led all scorers with 16 points and Eli Linder and Nick Piotrowski each had 12 points for Nordonia. Kenny Kitchen added 11 points for the Knights.

Devin Rencher, who had an explosive one-handed dunk off the dribble early in the game, led the Rockets with 13 points. Paul Jenkins and Brandon Gency each had 11 points for Streetsboro.

The Rockets also lost a 71-64 decision in overtime to Nordonia in the junior varsity contest. Avery VanReeth led Streetsboro with 20 points.
