Spring junior golf league offered in Kent
A spring junior golf league is set to begin April 3 at Maplecrest Golf Club in Kent.
The spring junior golf league is for beginners and advanced golfers, ages 6 to 17. There will be four divisions: three holers, five holers, nine holers rookie and nine holers advanced White (boys) and Red (girls).
A 30-minute professional instruction clinic is expected to be given each week before league play begins.
Juniors will play from age-appropriate tees.
There will be six weeks of league play, weekly proximity prizes, one free private lesson and a season-ending awards banquet.

Hoops team wins title
The Streetsboro fourth-grade boys travel basketball team, coached by Ryan Golson, participated in the 2013 Windham Invitational Tournament over a two weekend period.
Streetsboro earned a 34-12 victory over Middlefield in the championship game Feb. 23. Streetsboro also earned victories over Leavittsburg LaBrae and Garrettsville Garfield.
The team has won two tournaments this season.
