Wrestlers fare well at conference tourney

The Streetsboro Middle School wrestling team recently fared well at the Portage Trail Conference tournament.

Dominic Carone finished in first place and Cale Simpkins took third. Also faring well for Streetsboro were Cade Miskovich (fifth), Adam Mace (sixth), Landin Baughman (sixth). Tommy Duncan also competed for Streetsboro.

Arlesic speaks at Nike

Coaches Clinic

Streetsboro High School head football coach John Arlesic was invited to speak at the National Nike Football Coaches Clinic in Feb. 23 in Pittsburgh.

Arlesic was chosen as one of three high school coaches from the state of Ohio to speak. Other speakers included Bob Davie from the University of New Mexico, Paul Haynes of Kent State University, Lane Kiffin of the University of Southern California and Mark Stoops of the University of Kentucky.

There were many other high school and college coaches that filled the three day football clinic.

Spring junior golf league offered

A spring junior golf league is scheduled to begin April 2 at Roses Run Country Club in Stow for beginner and advanced junior golfers, ages 10 to 17.

There will be two divisions: Nine-holer rookies and nine-holer advanced.

A 30-minute professional instructional clinic will be given each week before league play begins. There will be six weeks of league play, and a season-ending awards banquet.

Streetsboro graduate Jaclynn Hess is a member of the Muskingum University (New Concord) softball team.

Rosati plays lacrosse

Streetsboro native Andy Rosati is a freshman midfielder for the University of Mount Union (Alliance) men's lacrosse team.
