Streetsboro boys basketball team suffers first loss


The Streetsboro boys basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Dec. 27.

The Rockets lost a 50-34 decision to Hudson at the Hudson Holiday Classic at Hudson High School's Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

The Explorers outscored Streetsboro 31-13 in the middle two quarters to take control.

Kevin Zullo shared game-high honors with 15 points to lead Hudson (5-1). Zullo scored all of his points on five three-pointers.

Chris Koscho added 10 points for the Explorers and Mitch Guadagni and Derek Schwarz each scored eight points for Hudson.

Reggie Dublin led Streetsboro (6-1) with 15 points.

The Rockets are set to play Richfield Revere in the consolation game Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. Revere lost a 66-49 decision to Chagrin Falls Kenston.

Streetsboro earned a 51-38 win in the junior varsity game.
