County Division wins

The Streetsboro wrestling team closed out its Portage Trail Conference County Division dual meet schedule with a pair of wins.

Wrestling in a tri-meet at Waterloo Jan. 9, the Rockets scored a 49-9 win over the Vikings and a 51-27 win over James A. Garfield.

Streetsboro finished its County Division dual-meet slate with a record of 3-3.

"I thought we wrestled well," said Rockets head coach Rick Charlton. "Our seniors did what they had to. I thought the rest of the guys took care of buisness."

Streetsboro benefited from getting numerous forfeits in both matches.

Double winners for the Rockets included Sean Kuklisin (decision and pin) at 106 pounds, Aaron Dantimo (two forfeits) at 132, Chris Dynowski (pin and major decision) at 138, Kyle Woods (pin and decision) at 160, Conor Austin (forfeit and decision) at 170, Pat Adkins (forfeit and pin) at 182 and Tyler Rowland (forfeit and decision) at 195.

"We're starting to wrestle better," Chartlon said. "We've got a big weekend coming up, which is going to test us."

Streetsboro is scheduled to participate in a tri-meet at Crestwood with Ravenna Jan. 16. First match is set for 5:30 p.m.

The Rockets also will participate in the Bill Dies Memorial Tournament Jan. 17 (3 p.m.) and 18 (10 a.m.) at Akron Firestone.
