Ohio Fury offers softtball tourney

The Ohio Fury Softball Program is scheduled to offer its Star Spangle Shootout/Amateur Softball Association Eastern Qualifier Girls Softball Tournament July 4 to 6 at KC Geiger Park in St. Marys.

There are 10-and-younger, 12-and-younger, 14-and-younger, 16-and-younger and 18-and-younger divisions.

The Ohio Fury softball program also is set to have its Star Spangle Shootout/Baseball Tournament July 4-6 at KC Geiger Park. There are 14-and-younger, 16-and-younger, 18-and-younger American Legion divisions.

Try out for Summit County Buzzsaws

The Summit County Buzzsaws 15-and-younger baseball team is hosting tryouts for several roster spots.

Players should be freshmen and must be planning to try out for their high school teams. Tryouts are scheduled to take place during regular practices at Kent State University's Field House.

Sapp has big game

Streetsboro senior Daniel Sapp had 18 points during the American stars 120-105 victory over the National stars in The Greater Akron Boys Basketball Coaches Association all-star game March 19 at Wadsworth High School.

He was named the Most Valuable Player for his team. Sapp made back-to-back 3-pointers late in the first half to give his team a 10-point edge.
