Streetsboro track and field teams make debuts in Newton Falls

The Streetsboro boys and girls track and field team participated in the Tiger Invitational April 5 in Newton Falls.

The boys finished fourth out of 15 teams with 72 points.

Tallmadge won the competition with 118 points and Field (87) and Hanoverton United Local (81) placed second and third, respectively.

The girls finished sixth out of 13 teams with 48 points. Girard won with 124 points and Tallmadge (99) and United (82.5) took second and third, respectively.

The following Rockets placed in the top eight:

Boys

• 100: Dakari Carter, first, 11.03; and Prince Franklin, second, 11.33

• 200: Carter, first, 22.85; and Prince Franklin, second, 23.35

• 3,200 relay: Tyler Garman, Alec Bindus, Jake Suttell and Malik Todd, first, 9:30.45

• 400 relay: Brandon Board, Donovan Booker, Dante Tamburro and Parris Burton, second, 45.28

• 400: Myron Jones, third, 56.18

• 300 hurdles: Victor Glass, eighth, 46.01

• 800: Garman, sixth, 2:18.1; and Malik Todd, seventh 2:18.16

• High jump: Reggie Dublin, tied for third, 5-6

• Shot put: Nick Fazio, fourth, 42-7.5

• Discus: Thomas Benson, fourth, 129-8

Girls

• 100: Savannah Nevels, third, 13.4

• 100 hurdles: Destiny King, fourth, 17.86

• 200: Mara Woods, third, 28.39

• 3,200 relay: Meghan Westerh, Madison Westerh, Dana Bindus and Megan Melice, eighth, 11:54.07

• 800 relay: Kailyn Williams, Haley Franklin, Jayana Taylor and Woods, fifth, 1:58.7

• 400 relay: King, Delisha McMiller, Williams and Woods, second, 52.71

• 400: Aajah Chapman, sixth, 1:08.82; and Taylor, eighth, 1:09.49

• 1,600 relay: Shamia Mitchell, Taylor, Chapman and Melice, third, 4:55.59
