Streetsboro baseball team picks up first win

The Streetsboro baseball team picked up its first win of the season April 9.

The host Rockets earned an 8-3 victory over Rootstown in their Portage Trail Conference County Division debut.

Streetsboro (1-2, 1-0) turned a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 lead with four runs in the bottom of the third inning.

The Rockets added a run in the fourth and three more in the sixth to put it away.

Streetsboro finished with seven hits and no errors. The Rovers  (0-3, 0-1) had six hits and one error.

Ricky Delambo picked up the win on the mound for the Rockets. Delambo scattered six hits and finished with six strikeouts to improve to 1-1 on the season. He did not issue a walk.

Austin Szemacs had two hits, including a double, and four runs batted in.

Nate Bailey added two singles and two RBIs.
