Streetsboro baseball team settles for split with Southeast

The host Streetsboro baseball team settled for a split with Portage Trail Conference County Division rival Southeast April 18 in Ravenna.

The Rockets earned a 4-0 victory after losing a 5-4 decision in the second game.

Austin Szemacs (1-1) got the win on the mound in the second game.

The Rockets (4-5, 4-1), who were the visiting team in the second game, scored three runs in the top of the second inning and one in the third.

Streetsboro finished with 11 hits and one error. The Pirates (5-3, 1-3) had three hits and no errors.

Szemacs and Ricky Delambo each had two singles for the Rockets.

In the first game, Southeast scored four runs in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead.

Streetsboro countered with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but it was not enough.

The Pirates finished with 13 hits and one error. The Rockets had seven hits and three errors.

Gage Simpkins (1-1) took the loss on the mound.

Austin Ritts had three singles and a run batted in and Chase Galinsky had two hits and two RBIs for the Rockets.
