Big inning leads Streetsboro softball team past Laurel

The host Streetsboro softball team earned a commanding 17-7 victory over Shaker Heights Laurel April 26.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

The Rockets scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

Streetsboro finished with 11 hits and three errors and Laurel had five hits and two errors.

Makenzie Dombrowski (2-5) got the win in the circle. She also scored four runs.

Corrine Braynard led the offense with four singles, five runs batted in and a run scored.

Jenna Oravec added two singles and three runs scored and Auliah Kendall had two singles, two runs scored and a stolen base for Streetsboro.

Alicia Garret drove in three runs and also scored once for the Rockets. Sarah Varner had a double and two runs scored and Hannah Roble scored twice.
